For the second time experienced paint experts ask me when I got my 74 1.8L repainted, as they say there’s mild orange peel. It’s mostly original and I’m the original owner; I know what’s been repainted or touched up ( not much).
Anyone with experience as to how much orange peel surface is/was in the 1.7 and 1.8 car bodies?
Is a small amount normal, excessive, or unheard of?
Would like to counter them or take the time to remove the peel.
Thanks!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

There is a small amount of orange peel. I don’t believe these cars were color sanded so you won’t see a “show finish” like a car that was sanded smooth. If you have original paint on some of the panels, you should be able to take it outside and see the finish. So should the painter.
