Hi guys. I believe I know that car. Looking at the license plate and the color along with the unique stripe, I believe that was Bob Zulkowski's '71 914-6. He, along with Troy Powell, owned and operated Metal Craft in Hayward, CA in the 70's and 80's. Troy had a flared blue 914-6 and Bob had this '71. It was pristine. At some point during his ownership it was rear-ended and Bob repaired it. I believe that was when it was painted black and the stripe, euro-badge were done.

Since I already have a '71 914-6, I would not be a buyer for this particular car. I rode in it many times with Bob; he was a great guy. He and his wife auto-crossed it many times.

I saw the photos (from the link) of the flared, short windscreen car, Metal Craft built, owned and raced. That was not this '71 914-6. To my knowledge, the 914-6 was never flared or raced, other than auto-crossing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

In which case I may also have the VIN wrong! Should have looked closer..... Not only a lazy Sunday, but lazy research.
