Is it common for a 914 to roll when turned off , parked on a very shallow slope when in gear without parking brake on? Cllutch seems ok in basic driving . Is it the oft hypothesized low compression? Car starts and runs great so there should be reasonable compression.,when very hot the engine does smoke some so maybe it needs rings or more . Anyhow , Trying to estimate if the rolling car is a worn clutch or low compression. Guess I should see if engine is turning when it rolls . Any info on the topic appreciated !

Sounds like you have a few things to check. The parking break should hold it no matter what if your breaks are good and the cable is adjusted correctly.
As others have said, low compression, faulty clutch (or misadjustment) or parking in 5th could allow it to roll. |
