Because I don't have enough to do, that's why.
I've fallen in love with the Group 5 car that's recently been delivered to The Red Barn where we're going to give it a bit of love and improvement. This will be covered in various "At The Red Barn" YouTube videos. THIS thread will cover my attempt to build my own set of Group 5 body panels. You'll have to wait to learn what material(s) I may have selected, as well as seeing which chassis they go on. For now, let's get started. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

I like most of the proportions of the existing bodywork but IMO, with some minor changes and "corrections", it could look even better.
I figured the best way to start would be to get a baseline into Fusion where I can try out various changes and get a feel for the look before committing to a final design. I'm still quite new to 3D scanning and here you can see I ended up using a combination of reflective markers and scanning spray. The spray dulls shiny surfaces that give the scanner a hard time. In all, it's pretty interesting in that it lasts only about 15 minutes before starting to disappear. It evaporates, leaving no residue! It's totally gone from the rear fender leaving only the reflective markers but you can see how it's disappearing from the front. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() |
