I found this humorous.
In the back of the 2nd and third editions of 356 tech specification booklets.

It’s sort of amazing when you stop and think about how difficult it used to be to get reliable information on our cars.

Factory manual was absurdly expensive.

D-jet technical information as almost non-existent unless you had access to dealer materials.

The 914 newsletter thing (can’t remember the formal name) was about the only reliable source of 914 information . . . And even then that was prone to errors and mythology.

Any mechanical mentors I had only questioned my sanity & manliness for playing with those “little cars and little engines” instead of a manly V8 in some muscle car with an archaic suspension and drum brakes all the way around. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
