Accurate info about new cars is still handled the same way as it was done “back in the day”. The car makers and dealerships are always keeping the repair info confidential and proprietary in order to protect their monopoly on performing repairs and service functions. On new cars it costs thousands of dollars to get the latest computer info and programs to repair and update new cars . Anyone ever have to buy and get a replacement car key lately? It’s hundreds of dollars to do so.
