What is special about this jam nut for the accelerator cable? 914-423-287-00

The PDF parts catalog describes it as "hexagon nut", and only lists it under the 914-6 models and it doesn't appear to be used anywhere else on the car. I've of course searched the interwebs. It is NLA and I can't find any photos of it. I assume they gave it a unique part number for a reason... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

914-6, 1970 - all stock and original

I am getting ready to put the engine back in and I recalled a component that I thought was interesting - here it is:

essentially a wide nut with 1/2 of the nut HEX and the other half is round.

Good memory! Thanks for sharing.

I think that is called a shoulder nut? If you have an opportunity, can you share the dims on the nut?
* Size across the flats (ATF)?
* Overall length
* I assume the inside is M6?
