What is special about this jam nut for the accelerator cable? 914-423-287-00

The PDF parts catalog describes it as "hexagon nut", and only lists it under the 914-6 models and it doesn't appear to be used anywhere else on the car. I've of course searched the interwebs. It is NLA and I can't find any photos of it. I assume they gave it a unique part number for a reason... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Here is the information about this 'fancy' nut, I seem to remember seeing these before, perhaps this is a standard part?

That is super helpful!

I assume it is 10mm ATF? Can you tell if it is a lock nut or there is anything else "special" about it? I am perplexed, and getting a bit nuts about this nut. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/head_hurts_kr.gif)

I will add this to the parts vault if you don't mind me reposting your images.
