Okay, i recieved the console extension with the flip-up padding with the trays underneath. is this the 3rd seat...or do i need more to it and are seat belts available for the 3rd seat anyway?

On a 1970 there are threaded mount points for a third lap belt on each side of the tunnel near the firewall. I am not sure if they were on the later bodies or not. But I think they are. They may have plugs in them. You must remove the center tray to get to them.
I had a new '70 with the belts for the middle seat. In those days belts were not legally required to be worn and shoulder belts had only been available for a few years. Hard to believe now, but I think I carried my 2-year old daughter in that third seat with the lap belt. If you want to install a set get a pair of rear belts from an early 70's 911. |
