Cerakote air cured piston coatings on the exhaust ports and combustion chambers.
Next will be piston tops and heads get heat dispersion coating too. Turned out pretty good one coat coverage  |

Excellent.
A couple questions if you don't mind. Why not bake the heads after the Ceracoat? How did you mask the sealing surfaces to keep the coating from messing up the seal? Thanks |

Yeah they offer oven cure and catalyst hardeners, this one is 5 day air cure. the end result should be the same?
The area on the head was blue taped, the vertical edged and the folded over then wider tape to cover the bottom of the head. I just use 4 of the head gaskets you get in rebuild kits and set one on each head. The added tape help them tight. A little clean up with acetone. I did the same with the exhaust ports and back of exhaust valve and use a old brass seal the same way as above t okeep the are free of coating QUOTE(Jack Standz @ Sep 13 2025, 04:46 PM)  Excellent.
