Tackling many projects, some critical path and some for fun on my '71 914. I had picked up a Momo 8000 hub somewhere along the way and thought this would be an easy win. Oops.
When torqued down, the hub is too tight against the steering column to even turn the wheel. There's nothing between the hub & column, then washer, then 27mm nut. Thoughts? Also, I'm operating under the assumption (uh oh!) that the new shiny metal ring is not needed in this application for the horn, as it simply does not fit correctly in any orientation. Also appears that the wire from turn signal cancel ring is redundant with the wire incorporated into the hub (brass hub pin contacts brass ring) and unneeded... also an assumption! Not much info I could find on this, very open to input on where I've gone astray. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
