Ordered replacement mirror from well known supplier, got a POS that was not cut right in 3 of the corners and 1/3 of the thickness of the original. Being TOO THIN glass flopped around in plastic back housing. Going to take OEM and have it re-silvered.

I hear ya Mark. I bought a pair about 2 years ago. One of them needed to have the 10mm nut tightened because the mirror was loose. However the nut was not centered and was against the tube keeping me from tightening it. I turned down one side of a 10mm socket to the point that it was paper thin. When I tried to tighten the nut it split the socket. At that point I called the company asking for a replacement or refund. The lady said no problem but that they were on back order. In the meantime one of their guys called me and said that all I needed to do was tighten that 10mm nut. I took me 10 minutes to explain that wasn't possible in this case and even if it were I shouldn't need to repair a new part that I purchased from them. He capitulated and 2 weeks later it arrived. A few months later I was standing next to the drivers door, which had the other mirror, when out of the blue the mirror fell out and thankfully landed on my foot. After a close inspection I noticed that it hadn't been seated in that plastic gasket. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bs.gif)
