50 914s pulled out of a Barn in the Pacific Northwest, Parts pulling this weekend before they get crushed Options

I went to see this last Saturday and unfortunately most of these cars will not make it back on the road.
A property owner in Rochester, WA bought the property and the barns had about a hundred cars. Mostly 914s and tons ov VW's. The prior owner had collection of over 1000 cars spread across multiple properties and some cool cars were pulled out of the collection prior to the sale of this property. When the new owner contacted a local VW club to ask for help getting rid of all the cars, they organized a community sale event to get them to enthusiasts rather than scrapping them outright. I heard about it through 914 Rubber and made the trip up to see what was there.
While some cars found new homes during the weekend event, including an LE, there are still many remaining that are now scheduled for the crusher. The seller allowed the organizers 1 more weeked to try and help rescue as much as possible. They are giving our community one final chance to pull parts before they're gone for good.
I didn't bring anything home myself, but I could see there are still salvageable components that could help other members with their restorations:
Exterior trim
A few good dash tops
Gauges
Turn signal housings
German glass
Rear windows with defrost
Interior components
Most of the complete cars have significant rust issues, but complete donor cars are available for minimal cost.

having viewed the informative film clip i dont agree with @JeffBowlsby . a negative price tag should be attached to all willing to remove them from the premises. $300 for shell, $500 per shell and junked engine to each person with a flat bed ready to get em out and go. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) you may laugh as i do but i'm being serious.

hence the crusher? you pay to clear a property in australia not the other way around.
last time i was informed it was $125 AUD to remove the car. no $ in owner pocket plagued by crumbling former status symbol - $ removed from owners pocket for the convenience.

those cars were lost to the world before they even entered the former pig stye?

Thats an interesting perspective and I don't necessarily disagree with our friend Michael, but it depends on the person and the specific vehicle characteristics. I have only parted two 914s in the last 25 years - where one saw junk and a waste of time, I saw opportunity.

Both cars were given to me free, just haul them away, they were not viable as vehicles. One '73 had a 1.7L engine and suffered from an engine fire, the other a '75 with no engine or interior. Still, I cleared about $1500 on each from their parts, and that was over 20 years ago. More than worth my time and my kids helped me turn wrenches which taught them life lessons. Even these cars with their rotted out chassis, likely have some value, but not enough to pay someone else for the privilege of spending hours and hours processing/selling off the parts and then sending the rest to the dump/crusher.
