came up in my side window of u tube - so pressed it and boy this was pretty funny in its own grim way. home movies at the ring with weekend drivers.

a few 911s and believe it or not 914s are in it. one six and a couple of 4s.

the number of cars that flip and roll is something else.
about the only cars that seem to not get out of control in a terrifying way are the 911s and the 914s. esp the 914s. just spin on the spot with a rotation or too.

there is a particularly interesting moment involving a VW beetle cab and you just know that in that car everybody had a lucky escape except for 4 pairs of underpants.

Why were they all full of picnic baskets and blankets? How much were they drinking?

rear engines, swing axles, bratwursts and beers with a racetrack attached. what more could you want on a sunday afternoon in cold war germany. better than giving the guards on the berlin wall the finger.

i sometimes wish i could have gone there at that time and chased down members of the family tree but i was only a 10 year old. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Green Hell survivor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) best part of my times in Germany. Never got a ring taxi ride with Sabine though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Wish we had a ring equivalent in the US but litigation would have it closed down in about a week.

germany is one hell of a country. its done everything, been through everything.
its mind blowing when you look back at it for the last 100 years.

i guess thats why i adore my 914. that joint was hitting a high water mark of modernism in the 70s and truly going right off on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
and was fully in sinc with the USA which had gone off big time in the 60s.
not talking about hippies. talking about landing on the friggen moon.
high water mark?

i just live down in an irrelevant country gazing on at the magnificence of it all over a life time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Funny how that works.

As someone who grew up in Germany, having 80 million people crammed into the (mostly landlocked) area the size of California, i'm gazing in awe at the unimaginable open spaces in Australia.

Some of us thrive on open spaces. My country has 58,000 people in 1700 square miles. And most of the land 200 miles in any direction is less crowded. Of course we have far fewer car resources than more civilized places.
