Ordered replacement mirror from well known supplier, got a POS that was not cut right in 3 of the corners and 1/3 of the thickness of the original. Being TOO THIN glass flopped around in plastic back housing. Going to take OEM and have it re-silvered.

The passenger side mirror I bought from SMC had the glass fall out while driving. Actually the glass and the gasket both fell out. When I examined it... the glass was single strength(3/32)... at least that is what it was called when I worked in my brother in law glass shop. It needed double strength(1/8). I called around to local shops and non of them carried it... so I order it (12x12) off Amazon... I was hoping to find a curved piece but no such luck.

Since I know how to cut glass...I made a template to test.... cut the glass... ground the sharp edges (seamed the glass it's called) and it fit tight and perfect.

Frustrating to have to do this for sure... I got it done and a year later it's fine.
