Greetings All,
I am selling my 1974 914 2.0L that I have spent the last 9 years restoring. I began this project like so many of us with the intent to do the job right and to enjoy the car a long time. Life had other plans so I am putting it up for sale. I am not able to add more than a single picture due to file size, so I have included a link to my photo bucket album. Below is the add copy that I will be using elsewhere in the coming weeks, but I thought that I would start here. 1974 Porsche 914 2.0L – Sunflower Yellow ________________________________________ This 1974 Porsche 914 2.0L is a numbers-matching example that has been refinished in its factory Sunflower Yellow over black upholstery and has undergone a nine-year, rotisserie restoration. Power is provided by its rebuilt 2.0-liter flat-four paired with a freshly rebuilt five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with fuel injection, front and rear sway bars, front fog lights, rare Bilstein front struts, and refinished 2.0L Fuchs wheels. Nearly every mechanical and cosmetic system has been refurbished, rebuilt, or replaced. This 914 is offered with a detailed record of the restoration and a clean title. ________________________________________ Restoration Overview • Full rotisserie restoration spanning nine years. • Refinished in factory Sunflower Yellow with PPG base coat/clear coat paint. • Extensive powder coating of engine tin, suspension components, seat rails, intake runners, and more. • Numbers-matching 2.0L engine rebuilt with new 96mm Keith Black flat-top pistons and cast-iron cylinders. • Restored to it's original fuel injection system • Compression tested at 140 PSI across all four cylinders. • Top-end rebuild performed by Brother’s Machine Shop. • Transaxle rebuilt by Rancho Performance Transaxles. ________________________________________ Mechanical & Performance • PMB Performance rebuilt the front and rear brakes. • Rebuilt pedal cluster with bronze bushings. • Reconditioned fuel tank flushed, boiled, and sealed. • New stainless-steel fuel lines (Tangerine Racing) and relocated Bosch fuel pump. • New high-pressure fuel lines and injectors. • Restored manifold pressure sensor (Fuel Injection Corp.) and new FI wiring harness (Jeff Bowlsby). • Resurfaced and bead-blasted flywheel with new clutch disc. ________________________________________ Chassis, Suspension & Brakes • OE front and rear sway bars added (not originally equipped). • All new suspension bushings. • Bilstein gas shocks front and rear. • Ground Effects adjustable rear coilovers (PMB Performance). • New wheel bearings on all four corners. • New brake rotors and pads. • Ultra-rare Bilstein front struts for 914. ________________________________________ Exterior • Sunflower Yellow repaint in PPG base coat/clear. • New rubber bumper tops, seals, and trim throughout. • New European tail light lenses and housings. • Euro-spec front lenses with conversion. • Restored front fog lights. • 2.0L Fuchs alloy wheels powder-coated and mounted with new 205/55R15 Kumho tires. ________________________________________ Interior • Reupholstered door panels (speaker holes repaired). • Partial reupholstery of rear back pad. • New carpet kit (914 Rubber). • Targa roof insulation replaced. • Interior and trunk lighting renewed. • Restored pedal cluster. ________________________________________ Additional New Components • Dual horns. • Heater box elbows and J-pipes powder-coated. • Firewall shifter bushing (Tangerine Racing). • New flapper box cables. • New headlights. ________________________________________ Highlights • Numbers-matching 2.0L engine. • Nine-year rotisserie restoration. • Rare Bilstein 914-specific struts. • Finished in its original Sunflower Yellow. • Extensive mechanical rebuilds with premium components. • Porsche Certificate of Authenticity ________________________________________ This restored 914 2.0L California car presents as a turn-key example of a very desirable Porsche that has been brought back to it's original factory specifications. There are just a few performance upgrades to the suspension which included the installation of factory front and rear sway bars to improve handling. With extensive documentation, COA and attention to originality, this beautiful 914 is ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker. Love to view your pics, but I'm not going to pay for a photobucket membership to do so...
Try loading 1 or 2 pics at a time. BTW, if your 914 is as nice as you say, I think you're underpriced by quite a bit. Bring a Trailer (BaT) would be your best venue, if you have the time to wait. |

Yikes - I did not count on the photobucket restriction. Let me see what I can come up with. Thanks for the heads-up! All of my photos are in the 5-8MB range |
