Went to Barbourville yesterday. Think 914 stockpile. They have everything over there.....1.8 engines, teh camper-buses i *love*, BMW 2002s, and much more. Picked up the parts car with a title *YEA!*. EVerything looks great! I loved it. ANyway, I recieved a car with decent longs, no engine, an ACTUAL REAL LIFE battery tray(heh), a key and a passenger door handle. Looks great. I want to post pictures today but I don't have a camera, and my girlfriend will be pissed if i halt progress to take car pictures.....I'll get em'. Might pick up a 6 and tranny and make another 914 racer (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Check you all later. I might just end up parting it out.....who knows? how much is your body guy going to charge you to fix the 914-turned-into-a-snow-plow for???
that has got to be a $2000 job just to cut and reweld the front section and that is if the red tub is not tweaked too bad....you do know that the fenders do no un-bolt?? if you body guy can do the job in a few hours, he's brilllant or a hack and the car will be a hazard to drive......I have a decent front hood you can have for free, it's white....surface rust at some of the seams.... to replace any of that sheetmetal, everything has to be cut and welded back together....in my opinion, the car is totalled unless you have big bucks or can do it yourself... I think you are better off transfering your good motor and parts onto the new "pink" car...of course I'd check the rust at the longs, they look like cr@p and could be a lot worse than the seller was admitting to..... |
