I would like to get rid of this double pulley on the crank of my 86 3.2 engine and replace it with a single pulley like the early engines.
Which year or engine single pulley would be compatible (same diameter) as a replacement? Would it have the same timing marks? Or, have people drilled the spot welds to get rid of the A/C pulley? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ![]() |

Thank you Clay for your input. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) No plan on having a belt driven A/C compressor, simply the Clewett belt tensioner. If installing A/C, I would go electric.
I read more on the Clewett product and it looks like there was an evolution where his ratio was initially reducing the fan speed. More recently he revisited its design to keep the stock ratio and has also redesined the tensioner. Today I talked with Richard Clewett and sent him some pictures of the Maddogs dual mount installed on the engine. He does have a 3.2 fitted with his belt system on an engine stand. I may go sheck it out in person with the Maddogs in hand. I will update this thread when I get some feedback. |
