Bilstien strut Noise, Clanks when it unloads Options

I rebuilt the front end , bushings, hardware, brakes, everything powder coated and also stock bilstien inserts 2 years ago

On the right front when the suspension is unloaded, it clanks - loud

I inspected for safety today and will take the suspension apart to inspect the insert asap

Any guidance as to what it could be?

The torque spec from Bilstein was 95ft lbs + or - 7ft lbs (little paper instruction insert that comes with the inserts) for the strut insert retaining nut. I had a clunk from the left front on my father's 914 before I replaced the strut inserts. Found the left front strut insert retaining nut was finger tight from the person who installed them in a repair shop many years ago before I started to go through my father's 914. I torqued the retaining nuts to spec with the Bilstein tool adapter when I put the new strut inserts in. No more clunk.
