I recently read that the '75 Copper Metallic 2.0L was very rare color option.
I had one in the 1980s, it was in perfect condition with the exception of a weird dent at the top/corner of the left-rear body panel. Does anyone know how rare this car/color combination was? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) Thank you, CTC911CTC |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) Thank you, CTC911CTC Not that rare I’ve known dozens A rare color would be auberine or a special order color how rare, i am not sure, but FYI L99K copper metallic was only available one-year fora 914, in 1975, and many were special ordered, mine was a special ordered late in the 75 MY. they didnt pump out hundreds of them, so compared to most other colors it is fairly rare, but we have about 6 here in our active community that are on the road and one for sale in TX in the classifieds as well, but they didn't make very many. So right now there is one in CA(Jim Hoylands), one in GA/SC(mine), one in Peoria, IL, one in TX and 2 more that i have seen in the past few years, one that was in FL that got shipped overseas. So maybe a few more will pop up but i would bet there are not more than a dozen at this point so id say that's fairly rare. Phil |
