I am sure that this has been discussed before but is there any retractable belts thatis a bolt in replacement for the early model manual belts? Thought about retrofitting later model retractable belts but there is no pocket in the firewall for mounting them. Suggestions???

Tom: On my car there is no "pocket" in the firewall. Assuming all 914's are the same, what you need is the vinyl backboard behind the seats. This bulges out to clear the retractor unit. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
