I am restoring the 1973 914 my dad had when I was growing up. It has a 1.7L motor. I know I will need 2.0 liter heads. What do you recommend. There is a great price variance. I assume I will also need 2.0 headers among other things.

1.8 heads will drop right on and have bigger valves. These heads can be worked to do what ever you need. OLD 2.0 Porsche heads are prone to temps and cracks. But can be found from northern cars in good shape. A few opted are for new casting and they to are available . Empi heads are the latest new casting and getting lots of interest and feedback, if you do not have a shop to build ones for you.. I hope this gets you started....
