Hi All,
Been reading a lot about the distributors in our cars. I have found a lot of stuff on dwell, points O-ring etc., but haven't been able to find anything about the physical parts of the distributors. Are there bushings that are replaceable? Are they not worth fixing? Any way I only have one and its on my car so nothing to open and play with. Are there any threads/articles that you know about?

Thanks,

Peter

The main issue is faulty vacuum cans that don't hold vacuum and worn out top advance assemblies, which make points/dwell setting inconsistent, both of these parts are NLA ,some vacuum NOS ones pop up on the Samba.com but are usually crazy money .
Found a guy in my country selling replacement ones but he was out of stock and an email inquire to him he stated these Chinese units were not up to scratch when he tested them on his Sun dizzy tester , he went on to say the biggest issue was they had incorrect advance and not much better than a 009 @ the dreaded flat spot they have .
I have rebuilt several 205 series SVDA units but have now run out of good cores and parts to do so ,just did the last one I had ...see pics, cheers.
