I understand that. Let me explain myself better
I know that in the factory car the lower oil fitting also seems to work as the third anchor on the tank from what I can tell, I want to see if i can replicate that for more tank security on my car. |

You say the factory's lower line is a third anchoring point for the oil tank? Can you elborate? I can see how the flexible hose can help restraining the tank, to a point, but I don't think there is a specific anchor? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

I have never heard of a tank falling out of a stock or conversion. |

I have never heard of a tank falling out of a stock or conversion. Colin is right. The oil tank is attached at three points. There are two studs on the tank and also a nipple at the bottom where the factory tube in question attaches ... with a hose in between. After installing the tank with the two 8mm nylock nuts and before inatalling the bottom hose a third nut (36mm ) secures the tank to the inner fender. Then the small hose attaches to the nipple and the tube Colin needs attaches to the hose. Colin the tenth reply to this thread (aturboman) has the correct original tube you need. Shipping should not be a problem. Contact him. My reply is based on original oil tank and original front engine mount. |
