It’s fine with adjusting up and down. It’s seriously loose with the in and out. At any speed it just folds in. Trying to figure out if it’s the nut behind the glass or at the base of the stem itself. Then… how to get to it! TIA

The one you want to tighten is under the glass
So you have to remove the glass from the mirror
It is held in the mirror with a thin plastic seal. It’s tricky to pull the seal out. A bit of prying without breaking the glass or bending of the lip on the metal that holds it together

Use your fingernail or a plastic lever. Do not use a screwdriver.
