While disassembling our fresh air box, I noticed that 3 of the fan blades have a wire clip on them. What is their purpose?
My only guess is for balancing, but seems like there would be better options to balance a plastic fan. I don't see any sensor that would be associated with them.  |

After I discovered them I had them on the tech quiz for the event we hosted. No one was able to guess what they were

It’s amazing how little weight is needed to balance a fan. The larger the impeller diameter is or the faster it spins the more force a tiny balance weight generates. That’s why the weights are just a thin piece of wire on these blower - they spin at a pretty decent speed. |
