been an interesting old week in the run up to the end of yet another weirdly stressful and also peaceful year.

pulled the rear interior out my uncles m b CL500.
just to access the rear electric window to investigate its non function.
took me a morning and half the afternoon to get it all out to prepare for the surgeon.
very stressful trying not to break any 20 year old plastic clips etc.
successful prep work but it nearly did my head in.
surgeon came across to operating theatre, poured himself into back of car and requested a hammer.
hammer handed across.
electric motor repeatedly tapped while holding window button down.
window resumed function.
verdict. electric motor had jammed due to lack of use.
m b locked up and left for weekend to check function next week after a few days locked and asleep.
(operation required due to severe battery drain - diagnosis being car could not put itself to sleep due to rear window not being able to assume it role in shutting the passenger door - those germans got too too clever by half with this big monster of a car). last thing friday afternoon this arrived.
for a good checkover and report.
owner is disposing of it.

my first time up close to a boxster for more than 15 minutes.
and not a bad variant if you ask me.
wish i had funds to take it into the fleet.
but i have booked the passenger seat for the surgeons test drive.
looking forward to it.
never been in a boxster.
let alone an S.
and i really like these first gen boxsters.
and this one has a bit of poke.
