I have a very slight oil leak that appears to be coming out of the small notch at the joint between the motor and the transmission. It's really nothing that I'm worried about, every once in awhile there is a drop on the floor... I was just curious, does this indicate that the crankshaft main seal is leaking, or it it the transmission? |

Taste it . . . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) But seriously - smell it. Gear lube has a distinctly different - sulfur, rotten eggs sort of smell that motor oil doesn’t. |

Yeah, that was my first thought, I do know what 90 weight smells like, did that, but I really couldn't smelll much. I guess it's engine oil then. |

I do know what 90 weight smells like, . . . Very distinctive. Smear a little on your neck. Drives the women wild (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) RMS is the location that is way more likely to leak due to constant supply of oil going to it vs the trans seal that is basically splash only. |
