Was it possible to buy just the outer floor edge repair panels in the past, say the 1990's.?
The car i have just started to investigate has butt welds along both driver and passenger sides, poorly excuted though.! The sections are ribbed indicating they are bought panels.

There is also a crease/ raised section on the long, not sure how that happened. ?

Any of you long term restorers know if you could buy these floor edge pieces way back ?

Here's a couple of pictures.

Many thanks.
Dave

Yes I have seen this before…….as in before we had the availability of all the replacement panels to do the job correctly.I would keep chasing both ends of the welds they will tell the story. In the mid 1980s….yes the Canadian 914s were already toast by then! I purchased from AA a pair of completely harvested longitudinal from the door post to the rear shock tower and the portion of the floor you have in your pics. We then went about installing the complete long and mating the floor similar to yours. Although I no longer own the car it is still on the road.Have fun uncovering the secrets of 50 plus years of previous owners repairs……..when done correctly the car will repay you 10 fold!
