So the horn on my new ( to me) 914 doesn’t work. Pulled the 911 horn pad off just now and as you can see, the brown wire is taped off. Wondering why. But at least I know why we have no sound. Where’s it supposed to attach?

Is the rotating/sliding contact plate still there? That’s where the wire is attached, inside the boss, it may have broken off. It might be possible to repair it yourself by attaching a new wire, or just buy a new assembly from one of the usual suppliers.
