Turn signal won’t cancel. Tried new signal switch and cancellation ring.

Be sure that you’re not over tightening the 4 long screws that hold the wiper and turn signal switches in the column. The switches should almost float in there. When I installed a new turn signal switch and new cancelation ring, they wouldn’t cancel. I loosened those 4 screws a good bit and then the turn signals canceled perfectly.
