I am trying to figure out how much additional oil is needed when adding an external oil cooler and a Billet aluminum Tuna can? 10 ozs. sound right? 3.7 qts. + tuna can equals 4 qts. of oil.
Setrab oil cooler .53 qts. or 17.2 oz. 110" of 1/2" hose 12 oz. engine oil + Tuna can 4qts.? 128 oz. total 157 oz. or 4 qts. + 29 ozs. So I would need 4 qts. plus an additional 29 ozs. of oil??? |

I have the exact same set up as you….
I wondered the same thing. I was running my engine during the break in period and the tuning, before I had to take it all back apart, with 4.3 quarts. Never could figure out how much of my oil was draining back from the cooling system into the case after shutdown. I always had about 3mm over the full line after cool down. |
