Not remotely suggesting this is applicable to the sports car / 914 driving experience. But the notion of solving infinite gear ratios (CVT) with a planetary gearset is interesting from an engineering perspective!

You’re both wrong (right?).
2nd gen Prius is a series - parallel architecture and can run either series or parallel. Likewise the Chevy Volt isn’t a pure series architecture. It connected the wheels to the ICE at higher speed. |
