Clutch Cable Install, How not to explode in a fit of rage Options

This is for anybody else doing a clutch cable install or adjustment. If you bought a new pin for the clevis at the pedal cluster, make sure that the pin goes through both sides.

I fought with this thing for hours thinking that I was just angling it wrong or something. I finally had enough and said to myself it can't be this hard. Tested the pin and the clevis outside the tunnel and sure enough it would only fit through one side. The old one fit through both sides no problem. So used a file to open the stubborn hole just a little bit and had that cable installed in seconds.

TL:DR test the pin and clevis outside the car before attempting install.

I just replaced mine after I had to trailer the car home. In my case, the clutch tube broke free and tore the firewall. For those still needing to replace theirs, I’d recommend reinforcing the firewall around the tube while the cable is out—especially if there’s any sign of softness—and checking the clutch tube welds both at the firewall and near the shifter.
