I'm about to run my rocker arms/shafts/etc. through the ultrasonic cleaner. Will Simple Green work? I've had Simple Green eat up the protective finish on bike chains. Any issues with engine parts?
Thanks, Konrad |

You can also use plain old Dawn dishwashing liquid soap from the kitchen in the ultrasonic cleaner. Works well to remove oil and grease without discoloring the metal parts. Simple Green has a tendency to blacken aluminum parts and pot metal parts in my experience. Dawn stop is also cheaper than any of the other cleaners mentioned, but may take a bit longer to effectively clean off all the oil crusted and baked on the parts.
