As a 914 newbie does the entire regulator need to be removed in order to remove the glass or can the forward bolt & plastic block that lifts the window be removed and the window carefully angled to remove it? I need to replace the forward channel guide fuzzy and I don't think it can be done with the window in place.

The glass can be removed without taking the regulator out. There are two different doors… 70-72 and 73-76. The YouTube video is the later… and is an assembly video but should tell you what you need to know. I Always suggest stating the year of the car on a post as there are differences by year.

I watched the video, but it looks like Ian took the regulator and the guides out first and then reinstalled everything including the glass.
