As a 914 newbie does the entire regulator need to be removed in order to remove the glass or can the forward bolt & plastic block that lifts the window be removed and the window carefully angled to remove it? I need to replace the forward channel guide fuzzy and I don't think it can be done with the window in place.

Yes but the glass goes in last… so in reverse order you can take the roll up window out and then get to the guide. I assume you’re talking about the rear guide. The front guide is part of the triangle window.
