How can I set up a temporary oil pressure gauge and still have the idiot light work.

I think I would need to remove the oil pressure switch put in an adapter into the oil pressure port with a tee fitting for the gauge and the switch.

What size fitting would i need to go into the case? Any suggestions on where i can buy?

For the flexible hose, you can use a 928 brake line - it has the correct M10x1 fittings on both ends. You will need to use a copper seal with it. I have the dual-pole sensor, and replaced the 1/8" NPT brass extension that the PO installed with this brake line, which I was able to fully thread it into the case unlike the 1/8" NPT fitting.
