“Depends on how well that car was bought 4 years ago.“

Exactly.

Look at a bunch of recently sold cars on eBay, BAT and World that are similar to your car and you will have a good idea what yours will sell for.

For sale = dreams
Sold = reality

This. This right here.

If you are brave, you could post more info and see what the collective thinks. Everyone here will be a whole lot more civilized than the shark tank comments section over on BAT.

Not very many standard/run of the mill 914s have gone for 28k+ on bat in the past 6 months. There have been 3 or 4 that were standout 'original' or one owner cars that brought good money. Motor swapped 6cyl cars bring the big money (enough to recoup the cost of the swap?... maybe.)

Have a look Have a look at the 'scatter plot' of cars sold. Each individual black dot is a sold car, mouse over the dots above 25k and closer to 30k, compare your car to those and you should get an idea... if you sold on BAT and found the right number of bidders. (crap shoot these days)

28k for a 73, 2.0 -- My opinion, with little research, it would have to be a pretty clean and special car.

For what it's worth, I think silver is a fine color for a 914.

Yep...BAT is so oversaturated with auctions these days I think some cars don't get the attention they deserve. Also, there seems to be more incidents of non-paying bidders. The tin foil hat crowd thinks there are more shill bidders now that classic car prices are weakening and sometimes the shills get stuck with the high bid.
