I've been trying to figure out what model this gauge was originally. So far in searching I've seen some close that are out of a 914-6, but have also seen similar marked as 911. Any ideas? I haven't had a chance to pull the gauge to look for a part number yet. I think the sensor for the oil temp is mismatched since it's reading cool.

I am unable to assist with the gauge, but you may consider checking the low temp reading with a known source, IR or similar

Thanks for the suggestion. I am planning to check the temp through the oil dipstick tube as a starting point.

Good idea should be close enough as reading is from the sump anyway pay to check the "G" wire on the gauge to sender ,most likely you have a duff sender or wrong rating for the same ,cheers
