Tap the hub out they said... It shouldn't take much force they said...

Ugh, after an hour of slide hammering with very little movement I pulled the retainer plate (not easy with hub in) and yanked the whole assembly off of the trailing arm.
Then using a McGyver arrangement of gear pullers (broke one) managed to get the bearings loose from the hub stubs.
Race car temps, some rust and age had them firmly stuck....
Finally going back together...

Next time hit the bearing race with a torch before you pull with the bearing puller.

The bearing was still intact so that would have boiled Al the grease in it. Stinky mess. This worked. Was just a little unorthodox.
