'74 2.0L, car was built with Intermittent wipers.
Story is as follows: Turn signal switch was not canceling, not because of a broken switch or bad cancel ring. Problem was that the screws were too tight and the spring mechanism wasn't strong enough to overcome the tightness. I didn't figure this out until after I had removed both the turn signal switch and wiper switch. Additionally, I believe the wipers only worked at the same speed whether you selected slow or fast even before I removed it. Upon putting everything back, the turn switch is now working properly and canceling, but the wipers will not turn off no matter what the lever is selecting. Did I reassemble something incorrectly or is the switch completely bad and needs to be replaced? And, if it needs to be replaced, who makes the best switch to work with the intermittent wipers option and possibly an electric washer in the future? |
