I am prepping for next weekends event and was wondering what the group knowledge in on these undercar air deflectors that go just in front of the engine on the bottom side of the floor pan.

Worried about additional drag? I sincerely doubt they create much...I use 'em in my 2L IT-prep historics car even though I have no engine tin surrounds.
