I'm finishing up new vinyl install and I'm having trouble with the sail trim attachment (PO had it glued in place). Does the clip face rearward? Also, the clip seem too narrow to engage both sides of the channel in the underside of the trim piece. Is this normal or is the clip simply too small? Thank you, John

Yes, I made it work with the lip pointed back towards the top, and I had to insert the clip before I attached it to the fender. Pretty satisfied overall with the job, but the drivers lower trim is not quite long enough. Not sure why. I cheated a little around from the door side to make it better than this but there's still a gap. I guess it just goes with the general imperfections on my car. Perhaps the driver's rear fender is slightly further astern. At 68 my left side is nothing close to my right, and I'm thankful to be walking straight. So if my car steers straight I should count myself lucky.
