Had clutch replaced and shop didn’t reconnect the ground strap when putting the trans back up. Hence the sluggish starting issue. Couldn’t find where to connect it to the trans, so connected it to the engine mount bolt (ground confirmed; see pic). New OEM strap is same length as old. I’ve replaced it before but don’t think I used the engine mount. Where should it go on the trans?  |

You were very fortunate that you didn't have a fire. Good to hear that it didn't happen.
When the transmission ground strap is left disconnected, your clutch cable is the likely path for electricity. Just ask George Hussey about his experience when he left off the ground strap (he just had to install a new clutch cable and reconnect the ground strap). |
