Could someone please make photos of an original connection at the battery for the positive cable? As the battery clamp portion is so often replaced with one from a local auto parts store, I am interested to see how the original was done, especially how the auxiliary wires are attached.

I'm wondering if the braided ground (earth to the UK and Aussie folks...) strap was an intentional design by an engineer until he/she was overruled by the bean counters. (why source 2 styles of cables when we can use the same black sheath cable for both..)
The braided strap is easily identified and that style was commonly used on electrical equipment and early computer systems in the 60's and 70's for 'ground'. It is much more flexible than a sheathed cable so will stand up to vibration/movement without cracking/breaking. Why is the trans to body strap braided?? A braided strap will handle a higher current load before overheating compared to a sheathed cable. Sometimes the 'old ways' are the 'best ways'.... |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) one other reason was common sense? ----- no confusion which was which. only matters of course in a world that valued common sense, which probably came to an end sometime in the mid 1970s? |
