Can I hot wire start at the starter?, Quick shortcut needed Options

All: Working through a new motor break in period. Hit a snag where I need to run the Motor with the cart in the air, without the front mounting bracket in place. Seems the tight motor is taxing the starter, and might have ,(probably did) smoke the ignition switch.

I have two things on order, a starter relay kit, and a new switch. However, I would like to run it once more while on the lift to video the leaking oil pump.

The question:with the key on, the car in the air, can I jumper the large starter contact and one of the solenoid contacts to get the starter cranking?
I used to do this on Fords all of the time, a little jumper on the coil, and a screwdriver to jump the solenoid. Drive away! It took me a few times driving to realize that I needed to pull the speedo cable so my parents didn’t know I took the car. Simple times.

At least now I have the key!

Yes, just grab a screwdriver and hit the top prong on the solenoid to the hot battery cable.
