Hello,
attached is a link to a YouTube video about test drivers. The film dates back to around 1970. From about the 7:00-minute mark, it shows test drivers carrying out test drives for Porsche with the 914 and 911. It’s a really great and fascinating video that I didn’t want to keep to myself. I don't speak German, but the cars racing at the beginning look like Mercury Capris to me???

I didn't realize the Capri had such the heritage. It's odd that Europe & Australia often got cooler versions of Ford & other American made cars back in the day. Even recently, the Ford Fiesta ST had a pretty cool 2 door hatch that they refused to sell in the U.S. market....only the 4 door. I do remember in the 80's, Mercury selling a Capri that was more or less a Ford Mustang...the hatch was a little different and maybe the front lights? |
