Is it possible to put a manual choke on Weber 44 IDF'S. I live at 5200 feet above sea level and have a hard time starting my 914. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a set of 44s with the "starting device" in them.

It's intricate. It actually lifts a "jet" mechanically which adds fuel/air into the idle circuit.

Works like a choke, sort of...

All of the carbs have this system built into the casting but adding it after manufacture would be a BITCH!

Buying new (with the starters) would be cheaper/easier.
