Decals for a 2.0 Options

For a 73 2.0, does someone know what the correct sticker is for the right front wheel arch? This one says it is for a 1.7 L.

Also, are there any decals in the engine compartment for a 73 2.0?

Jamies car is VIN 4732914926, german text, red letter label. Original owner, inherited from father.

All the 1973 1.7L example labels are german text, red letter labels, except the one white car VIN 00128, with black text. 00128 has been repainted. If possible, would be nice to confirm that it is a replacement label, which I suspect.

no, the white car is an EB engine jeff.
its the weak californian 1.7.
73 only. california only.
and its a confirmed EB engine and confirmed californian car.

i doubt in the extreme its a restickered car. it was not restored. it was only thoroughly deep cleaned by the member here and then offered for sale.
the kind of car i like to see. unmeddled with.

the EA engine in the 49 state cars could not run on 91 octane. hence the 98 RON german text sticker.
but the EB engine could run on 91 octane (it would of course run on higher octanes like 98, but being lower compression was able to run on 91 - hence the min 91 sticker.
the introduction of unleaded fuel was a phased operation in the USA beginning in 1973.
california first. the rest of USA was to be the next year 1974.
californian cars were required to be able to run on 91 octane. by regulation.
the next year in 1974 the rest of the USA phased in unleaded and all cars were required to be able to run on 91 unleaded gasoline.

if anything the 73 2.0 L (49 states) is the anomaly. it could run on 91 unleaded but was not yet required to by regulation until 1974. the did it anyway. just made it USA wide in 1973.

it is not until 1975 that the cars had to be able to run ONLY on unleaded.
and that was applicable in california only due to the fitment of catalysers.
the regulations mandated a restrictor on the filling cap so that only an unleaded fuel filler nozzle would fit.
not only was unleaded phased, the entirety of the emissions introductions was phased during the 1970s. california would always be the first phase a year in front of the rest of the USA.

so that white 73 is the real deal.

i'm sure with enough searching i could turn up a second one.
its just that i am not particular motivated to research 73 1.7s.
the sole reason that the californian 1.7 is so low on power is not due to any emissions device per se, its that the pistons were dished and the compression lowered and hence the power drop. all done purely to allow it to run on 91 Ron.

the next year they enlarged the engine to 1.8 as the entire US market required the same compression drop to run on 91. the displacement increase got some of the power loss back. not all of it. but some of it.
